A House With a View
Today I have something exciting to tell you!
Remember waaayyyy back when I showed you this,
The Hubs and I were trying to decide on a location for the house back then.
Fast forward nearly five months and we still hadn't made up our minds.
Well, now that we have pretty much bought a house, we thought maybe it was time to finally decide where we were going to put it!
The other day it rained, so the Hubs had a couple hours to spare. We went out to each location and spent a couple hours discussing our options, without the kiddos around, which made it much easier to really talk and to focus!
And we made a decision. It is final. It is done.
We are going with the tree shelter corner (the second photo).
I am in love.
I am ecstatic.
We are going to take out some of the trees to open up the view and extend some of the other trees to get a little extra protection.
This location provides wind protection, a must in South Dakota. A beautiful view of the river hills, although not the river itself. And it has the shortest stretch of road to build of any of the locations, which is great for the wallet!
I am so excited to check something off my list!
One decision down, four hundred fifty two million to go!
Have a happy weekend!
P.S. Thanks for the great feedback on Facebook about heating and cooling options. The people have spoken and geothermal is winning by leaps and bounds. Keep the advice coming!
Update! Just found this photo on my cell phone! It shows the sun setting over the house location!
