Two Recipes for Tuesday
Have you ever been asked a question, and felt smug because the answer was, "Duh, everyone knows that." Then you realize about half way through explaining it, maybe you don't know as much as you think you do?
Has anyone ever asked you how to hard boil an egg?
It's one of those things that seems so simple, and many people would get all high and mighty like, "Wow, you don't know how to do that?!"
I am not one of those people.
In fact, I am going to tell you how I boil an egg, and to do that, I double checked the recipe I have written down just to make sure I tell you right.
I fill a pot about half way up with cold water. Then I place as many eggs as I want to cook in the pot. Turn the stove on medium-high. Bring the water up to a good boil. Cover with a lid. Turn off stove top and remove from heat and allow to sit for ten minutes. Then immerse the eggs in ice water or I just turn on the cold tap and run it over the eggs till they have cooled a bit.
I only hard boil eggs a couple times a year, but that's the recipe I always use, and I've had good luck with it!
This next recipe is even easier than boiling an egg.
I took this to Easter for an appetizer and there wasn't a man or woman who didn't come back for seconds! It was so unbelievably good I don't know what else to say other than, "You have to try it!"

1 1/2 lbs fontina cheese, rind removed and cubed
1 tablespoon rosemary and 1 tablespoon thyme chopped up
4-6 garlic cloves finely minced
Put all in a broil proof dish
Drizzle liberally with extra virgin olive oil
Sprinkle with coarse salt and pepper
Stir and pop in the broiler till cheese is bubbly. Approx 4-6 minutes.
Serve with toasted crusty bread
Or eat it off a spoon like I did...
Oh my goodness, if that isn't a slice of heaven than nothing is.
